Carlos Iwaki was born in 1976 in Cusco, Perú.

He studied Civil Engineering and graduated in the San Antonio Abad University in Cusco in 2005. In 2007 obtained the Master Degree in Civil Engineering in the Catholic University of Peru. Afterwards in 2008, he developed the Advanced Master in Structural Analysis of Historical Constructions in the universities of Minho (Portugal) and Padua (Italy) sponsored by the Erasmus Mundus programme.

In 2009 he returned to Peru and worked in the researching of structural retrofit of historical earthen constructions in the Catholic University. During 2010 he was member of the structural consultant team of the Caral Project in the north of Peru assessing structural issues of five thousand years old pyramids.

Actually he works as a structural engineer in one of the most important consultants in Peru (GMI S.A.).
