Catarina Costa was born in 1984 in Portugal.

She is a Civil Engineer since July 2006, when she graduated on a 5-year course in the University of Porto in Portugal.

Afterwards, she worked as a structural engineer for 2 years in the design of reinforced concrete buildings.

She enrolled the SAHC Masters Course during the 2008/2009 academic year.

Since January 2010 she works in the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, Portugal, where she is doing research in stone masonry walls through laboratory, in-situ tests and numerical modelling.
