B. Kucukdogan (Turkey)

During my last year in my graduate studies in Turkey, I used to have deep concerns on how to be part of international research activities that have practical aspects, as a civil engineer in the field of Conservation of Historical Buildings. Becoming a part of SAHC has just located me in the heart of a network of distinguished European experts on this field as well as international researchers and graduates that have the same academic interests with me.

I was given the opportunity to work on my specific subject of interest in which I was passionate enhancing my curiosity to learn more and my courage to pursue further advanced studies. Living in two different countries with very distinct socio-cultural and socio-political structure has given me such a life experience that can not be obtained by any other means.

At the moment, I am working in strengthening projects of historical masonry in abroad thanks to the network that I had during the course and do utilize the knowledge I have been accumulating until now. I believe the course is a good introduction that provides wide range of information on related topics for any further studies in this specific field.
